What is Spindrift?
Spindrift Beverage Co., Inc. was founded in 2010 on the belief that the best tastes come directly from nature, every Spindrift® product is proudly made the hard way with real squeezed fruit. Spindrift does things the hard way, the intentional way, the better albeit more challenging way, the right way – because, in the end, it's worth it.
Spindrift is delicious sparkling water made with real squeezed fruit. We think it’s delicious.
The word "spindrift" also means the spray that comes off of an ocean wave or snowy mountain when wind blows.
What is Spindrift made from?
Spindrift uses real squeezed fruit – including fruit juices, fruit purees, and extracts from the same fruit. Our goal is to use as much of a fruit as possible, not only the juice. The extracts we use are created from the oils from the rind or peel of the fruit. Please check out this post for more information.
Where can I buy Spindrift beverages?

Hey, what happened to your sodas and sweetened beverages?
Back in 2010, Spindrift started by combining real squeezed fruit, bubbles, and a touch of cane sugar into long-necked glass bottles and, thus, our sodas were born. By adding cane sugar, we were able to create a tasty beverage that served as the perfect gateway for most sparkling beverage novices. But, as we continued innovating and got more into the craft beverage space, we wanted to take all the things we loved about our beverages (the real squeezed fruit and bubbles) and remove the things we didn’t love (added sugar). Now, after lots of mixing, tasting, adjusting, and simplifying—we think we’ve finally got it. A product that tastes exactly like it should: delicious. From now on, the only thing sweet in our products will be the real squeezed fruit itself. Because, honestly, real squeezed fruit is sweet enough. Though our sodas will hold a place in our hearts and history – we’re really excited about our sparkling waters.
Are your products sold internationally?
Our products are currently only available in the United States. But we hope to be available internationally some day soon!
Do your products contain caffeine?
All Spindrift sparkling waters are caffeine-free except for our sparkling iced tea inspired products: Half Tea & Half Lemon, Mango Black Tea and Mint Green Tea.
Do I need to refrigerate Spindrift products?
We do recommend refrigerating Spindrift for the best experience. That said, you can store our sparkling waters at ambient temperatures (below 80ºF)—but we recommend that you consume them after they have been chilled.
Are your products sugar-free?
Our unsweetened sparkling water lineup has no sugar added. The only sugar you’ll see on the label comes from real fruit we use.
Do your products contain GMOs?
All of the ingredients in our sparkling water are non-GMO certified. Many of our cans now have the official non-GMO certification but you may still see cans in the market without the non-GMO badge. This is just because we’re actively transitioning to including the new badge. All contents are still non-GMO.
Are your products Kosher or Gluten Free?
Yes to both! Please note our Kosher designation is OU.
Why are your carbonation levels lower than most sparkling waters on the market?
We keep the carbonation level balanced so we don’t overshadow the taste of the real squeezed fruit that goes into all of our products.
Are your products pasteurized?
All Spindrift beverages are fully pasteurized to comply with food/beverage safety regulations.
What does the date on the package correspond to?
All Spindrift beverages are individually stamped with a best by date. To find the best-by date, check the bottom of the can or look on the outside packaging of any the eight, and variety packs. We recommend enjoying your Spindrift before that date for the best experience.
Is your real squeezed fruit organic?
In short, no. At Spindrift, all of the fruit squeezed for our product is non-GMO and sourced from trusted farms; although the fruit is not technically certified organic. After much research, we found that the projected environmental costs of switching to wholly organic produce would outweigh any potential benefits we’d receive by “going organic.” We’re committed to working with farms to source the very best-tasting fruit there is and we’re always looking for ways to source more sustainably.We are closely involved with the entire process of the creation of our product. From visiting farms to tasting each and every batch we make. We’re proud to work with our partners and are always working to reduce our environmental impact at every level in our production process. We’re also committed to giving back to reputable environmental non-profits through our membership to 1% for The Planet.
Are Spindrift cans BPA-Free?
All our cans are using a BPA-NI can liner, or BPA-not intended. This is the industry standard lining that’s been reformulated without the use of BPA, or bisphenol A and BPS.
What is changing with Spindrift Sparkling Water labels?
The new label highlights what’s in our products more clearly — especially our use of real squeezed fruit in the form of juice and fruit extracts. Additionally, while our formulation itself has not changed, we adjusted the method of calculating juice percentages.
Did you change the product formulation to add fruit extracts?
No, nothing about Spindrift's product formulas has changed - this is only a label refresh. There have been no changes to recipes, sourcing, or manufacturing. Our label now more specifically highlights the components found within the real squeezed fruit in our sparkling water, including fruit juices, fruit purees and extract from the same fruit.
Why was the juice percentage higher before if the formulation has not changed?
Our formula hasn’t changed, and there is still the same amount of real squeezed juice as always. This is reflected in our unrounded calorie count, which remains unchanged.
There are also different methods for calculating juice percentage: one for juice from that has been reconstituted from juice concentrate (by adding water back in) and another for not-from-concentrate (NFC) squeezed juice.
We were using the reconstituted from concentrate calculation even though we always use NFC real squeezed juice. Once we determined there was a more relevant method, we shifted our approach. This resulted in a slight adjustment to the juice percentage we list on our label but not to the amount of juice in our recipe. For more information click here

Didn't you used to make Spindrift® SODA?
Yes! It was the first Spindrift product, made in glass bottles and required refrigeration. Years ago, we discontinued the original Spindrift® SODA because we no longer wanted to use cane sugar. After years of hard work, Spindrift® SODA is back and honestly better than ever. This time, the only sweetener in our soda is the real squeezed fruit, and it is shelf stable just like Spindrift® Sparkling Water.

What's in Spindrift® SODA? Where do you source your ingredients?
Spindrift® SODA features a variety of real squeezed fruits, purées, and extracts from fruit – never from concentrate. Each soda is made with 20% juice. Our sourcing team searches worldwide for the best-tasting fruit and ingredients for our products. Our soda line includes new carefully sourced ingredients like vanilla from Madagascar and ginger from Peru. Every ingredient must pass our rigorous sensory process before it's added to a batch of Spindrift. Then every batch is tasted 3x before it makes it to you.
What do you use to sweeten Spindrift® Soda?
Real squeezed fruit! Really. Zero added sugar and no engineered sweeteners, either. After years of hard work, we created recipes that taste as good (and sweet!) as soda just by using real squeezed fruit.
What are the extracts in Spindrift® Soda?
We're obsessed with what goes into our products and scour the world to find the best-tasting ingredients we can. Our extracts are made by squeezing, pressing, or steeping real fruit, spices, and herbs, and we love how adding them can deepen the flavor profile of our recipes. Each extract in Spindrift is sourced with the same care as our juices and purees. (Our vanilla, for example, is sourced from Madagascar for its rich, round, sweet bourbon notes.)

Does SODA contain caffeine?
Nope. All Spindrift® SODA flavors are caffeine-free.
